The Rams' Assistant Coach Grey, Captain Michael Hunter and rookie CK Emery watch from the sidelines
Sometimes what happens off the field spills onto the field. The Rams are an Aussie Rules club in the AFN, and they're hoping for success this year - which looks like it just might happen when the team wins the pre-season.

Rookie CK Emery is hoping to make his own name, out from the shadow of the fame of his old man, Doug Emery. Jack Williams, the coach of the Rams, is having trouble coping with the trauma of a recent tragedy. Michael Hunter, the captain of the Rams, has his own problems to deal with onfield ~ and off-field when Ryan Mackie, a talented player carrying a bad attitude, is drafted from another club.

White Lines is based around a fictional Aussie Rules team. Conceived and written by Jesse Richardson (who also plays CK), White Lines was made on a budget of just $12,000 - a Hollywood-style drama on the ins and outs of a footy club. So far seven episodes are available - you can watch them all here.

Says Jesse: "The idea for White Lines came from watching the 2012 AFL Grand Final. Watching those athletes compete in front of 100,000 fans on the games biggest stage inspired me. In that moment I would have given anything to be an AFL player! I said to my wife, 'Well, I guess I'll have to wait for someone to write a script about AFL...' And then it dawned on me - it was me!

"I created the series out of a burning passion for Australian Rules football and the chance to portray it in a way never seen before. It was all made possible by the amazing actors that dedicated their time to it - Steve Nation as Coach, Michael Thomson as Captain, Daniel Green as Ryan Mackee and Darrell Plumridge as Assistant Coach. These guys and everyone else worked their butts off to make this series something special. Mike Holligan (director) was instrumental in the production - and now we plan to take this series all the way to network TV."
