Top-Shelf Night Behind Bars
It's a very personal thing; how you take your whiskey that is. I like mine neat over ice, some prefer it without the ice, others with a splash of water or a dash of soda. Sadly, some people even vandalise a good dram by adding coke or dry-ginger.
Whatever your taste, the folks at Old Castlemaine Gaol are giving you the chance to try some of the best whiskeys from around the world in a night of whiskey tasting on Friday 29th September.
The team at Old Castlemaine Gaol are offering you the opportunity to step behind bars and sample eight great Whiskeys from around the world.
Showcasing whiskeys from Scotland, Ireland, America, Australia and Japan, this is the perfect opportunity to test your palate, tasting and scoring eight different whiskeys. You'll learn about the best glass to use in a tasting, how to take that first sip, how to rate its nose, taste, palate and finish, and most important of all, spend a great night out with like-minded whiskey enthusiasts and friends.
You be the judge and decide which of the Whiskeys on offer get out of gaol free.
There'll be a bus running between Castlemaine and Bendigo so, if you're in that neck of the woods and would like to leave the car at home simply make your booking and then email email@example.com to register your interest in travelling on the bus.
Cost of admission is $55 per person and includes eight whiskey tastings plus nibbles. Tickets are available at the door or online here.
Whatever your taste in Whiskey this is a great opportunity to try some of the best from around the world.
If you'd like to make a night of it dinner will be available in the gaol's award-winning Governor's Cafe from 6pm. The café was awarded Winner Café Ballarat, Bendigo & The Goldfields in the 2017 Readers Choice Good Food Guide Awards. Bookings can be made by calling (03) 5472 3749.
