On Australia Day, we'll welcome thousands more new citizens to our national family. To qualify, they need to pass a 20-question test about Australia, its people, democratic beliefs, rights and liberties, government and law. While new Australians need to know we have freedom of speech, a responsibility to vote and most importantly, Donald Bradman's test cricket batting average, are there other facts they need to know?

Should these questions be included? If not, they'll always make for perfect pub trivia.

1. During Easter, which animal joins the bunny as a chocolate treat?
2. What's inside a Chiko Roll?
3. What's our national cake ?
4. If you're fair dinkum, is that good or bad?
5. Which city is famous for thousands of Elvis Presley sightings?

6. While it's become chic to discover one of your ancestors was a colonial criminal, which state didn't officially accept any convicts?
7. She's "NOT HAPPY JAN". Why not ?
8. Can you see the Great Barrier Reef from space ?
9. We've had an Australian Prime Minister volunteer as a surf life saver and another lost while swimming. Can you name them?
10. If you have a prized possession, where should it go ?
11. Was the most expensive artwork in our National Gallery painted by an Australian artist?
12. When you visit our parks and beaches, you should 'leave only footprints'. On which beach can you find giant dinosaur footprints over 100 million years old?
13. Bonus point – do you use a Hills Hoist to either swing on or dry your laundry?
