With more and more online shopping and less bricks and mortar stores it's getting harder and harder to find all the things you need when a brand new baby is on the way. Whether you're shopping for a toddler or an expected newborn, it's always nice to be able to shop in store to try before you buy. We're looking for the best kids and baby stores in Adelaide. The best spots to buy prams or cots, or to stock up on sleep suits and board books. We've got a few places but we want to know if there are any hidden gems that you swear by.
Baby Bunting is definitely Adelaide's biggest baby store. They have locations all over Australia and in Adelaide you'll find them in Melrose Park, Mile End, Gepps Cross and Munno Para. They have all the big ticket items like prams, cots and bedroom furniture from cost effective options to high end brands. You can also find smaller items like toys, books and clothing as well as must have accessories like breast pumps, bottles and more. The stores are big and they definitely don't have the same feel as some of the boutique stores, but you're definitely likely to find something that you need.
Department stores can also be great for picking up essentials or big items like prams and bedroom furniture. David Jones and Myer both have large sections of baby items and clothing, often stocking name brands with a slightly higher price point. If you're after something a little cheaper you can usually find some good options at KMART, Big W and Target.
One of Adelaide's best boutique baby stores is Baby Junction on Kensington Road. The selection is smaller but they have beautiful cots and bassinet's from brands like Stokke and Cocoon. They have some sweet toys and bedding and clothing that you're unlikely to find from some of the bigger stores. It might not have everything you need on display, but it's definitely worth taking a look. While you're there you can also stop in to Out of the Cot or Rainbow Tree Organic & Natural Parenting just across the road, or Owl Baby, another shop a few doors down.
The Infant Boutique in Norwood has a similar feel and range. Whether you're looking to stock up on onesies and sleep suits or pick up plates and cups for when baby starts weaning, you can find it all here. Kids will love the selection of toys whether you're after activity mats, wooden toys or imaginative play, and the location is also great with plenty of other stores in Norwood to explore.
