Where to Pick Berries in Victoria

Taste the best of summer

Summer's best fruits are ripe for the picking so grab a bucket/ container slap on the sunscreen and a wide brimmed hat, and get yourself down to your nearest berry picking farm for a taste sensation of fresh summer berries! Mix them with ice cream or yogurt and you have the perfect dessert!

So, where can you pick your own berries in Victoria?

I have a substantial list below but if you know of or own a berry farm not included we would love to know about it and add it to the list, please leave your message above.

King Lake Raspberries is located in Tooheys Rd, Pheasant creek and are open from December to the end of January between 9am-6pm.

They cost $16 per kilogram if you pick them yourself and entry is free. For more info check their website here.

Avonsleigh Berries: is located at 26 Avon Rd Avonsleigh and are open from December - January 9am - 4pm. They sell blueberries and morello cherries. Phone 03-59682650

Berry Hill Fruit Farm is located at 21-27 School Rd Rawson/ Erica. They sell blackberries, blueberries and raspberries and are open from November to Easter. Ph 03-51653373.


Chappies is located at 21-23 Parker Rd, Silvan and sell raspberries, blackberries, boysenberries, strawberries and cherries. Entry costs $12 per person and includes one kilogram of fruit, primary aged children are $3.

Berries are all $12 a kilogram and cherries $9. Chappies are open 7 days a week in November, December and January between 8:30am- 5pm. For more info see their website here.

The Bramble Farm: is located at 25 Lyppards Rd Langwarrin and has a great selection of berries that includes: blackberries, raspberries, jostaberries, youngberries and red currants.

They are open 7 days a week year round between 9am - 5pm. No chemicals are used. Pick your own, pre- picked, frozen or already turned into jam type berries. Check their website here.

Bunniyong Blueberry Farm is located just out of Ballarat at 7189 Midland Hwy, Bunniyong and is open daily from 10am - 5:15pm except Tuesdays and Sundays 1pm - 5:15pm. The first berries of the season should be available from the 25th of January but keep a look out on their website here. Bunniyong farm do not charge an entry fee.

Folly Farm Blueberries is located at 192 Falls Rd Olinda and are open 7days a week 9am - 4pm whilst the berries are in season (early January till early March).

Please note that this farm states that picking is not suitable for children under 12 as the bushes are delicate and they have a no drop policy when picking berries. To find out more click here.


Herbert Hill Berry Farm is located at 5 Sawyer St, Leongatha and are open all day Saturday and Sunday during December and January.

By appointment Mon-Fri by calling 03-56624801. Berries include: boysenberries, loganberries, silvanberries and youngberries. Priced at $8 per kg if you pick them or $10 a kg frozen. Check out their website here.

Jay Berries is located at 140 Wandin Creek Rd, Wandin. They have strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. For more information, call 03-59644451 or visit their webpage here.

Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm is located on Shands Rd, Main Ridge ( Mornington Peninsula). They only have strawberries but you can pick them, eat them chocolate covered in the cafe or as a strawberry sunday.

Pick your own costs $8 entry for adults (includes 500grams strawberries) $4 children (250 grams strawberries) and is available between November - April between 9am-5pm. For more info click here.

Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm

Sunny Creek Organic is located at 69 Tudor Rd,Trafalgar South and is open everyday in the summer school holidays and at other times call 03-56347526 to confirm your visit. They have a huge variety with raspberries, boysenberries, strawberries, loganberries, blackberries and also red and black currents. Less than 2kg costs $16.50 per kg, more than 2kg costs $14.50 per kg and a grazing pass costs $5.50. Visit their website here for more details.

Blue Hills Berries & Cherries is located at 27 Parker Rd, Silvan.

Their comprehensive website is updated regularly so you can be sure of what's ready for picking. Berries cost $16kg. No children under 12 for berry picking. Check the website for availability here.

Gentle Annie Berry Garden is located at 520 Pennyroyal Valley Rd, Deans Marsh and has the biggest range of fruit and berries to pick with 9 types of berries. The cafe looks a treat too. To see what's in season click here.

Tuckerberry Hill Blueberry Farm is at 35 Beck Rd Drysdale and is open everyday between December - 30th of January and weekends only from February to April. To find out more read a review from Weekend notes here.


Gembrook Fruits is located at 76 The Patch Track, Gembrook and has blueberries and blackberries. Please note that the 2014 season is only open to customers that are registered. To check if registration is full call 59681502 before or check their website here.

Summer Sensations is located at 1440 Bannockburn-Shelford Rd, Teesdale and is open Wednesday - Monday 9:30-4:30. They grow strawberries, blackberries, boysenberries, silvanberries, youngberries and raspberries ( no pick your own with raspberries). For more info call 03-52815449 or view website here.

Berry World is located at 24 Egan St Timboon and are open Tuesday - Sunday 10am-4pm. They sell Strawberries and blackberries. Call 03-55983240 or go their website here.

Please note, for the farms that do not have a website I advise you call the farm ahead of visiting to check availability of crops and for prices/entry fee to avoid disappointment. Also, all of the farms are cash only and they ask for everyone not to eat berries before they are paid for, this in turn will keep giving people access to pick their own berries.

Great, and useful article Lorraine - I'd also recommend The Avenue strawberry farm in Bacchus Marsh, on your left as you come off the Western Freeway -t he strawberries are SO delicious there.

Ladybird Organics in Keilor. Strawberries only - great for those who live in the western suburbs of Melbourne.

Can team it up with a plane watching expedition at one of the nearby viewing areas.

Keep away from bacchus marsh on weekends, millions of people fruit picking, minus fruit left and minus parking.
