I'm a law/journalism student living on the Gold Coast and I really enjoy some good avo on toast (and nutella donuts).

Eat until you need to roll home
When visiting Brisbane, it is essential to spend your time eating, and then shopping to walk off all the food you have consumed. There are so many things to see and do in Brisbane, so let's go exploring! Sometimes the little adventures are the best.
Here are some recommendations for dining whilst in the Brisbane CBD:
The Charming Squire - This restaurant/pub, owned by the James Squire brand sits right next to the South Brisbane train station. The food and atmosphere is awesome, as well as the beer and tasty cider. I would recommend trying one of their pizzas and the cheesy garlic bread. Definitely a must eat while in town!
Cowch - Brisbane's little bar and dessert restaurant is full of cow udders, chocolate and everything delicious. Cowch is a mix of naughty and nice, with their menu boasting everything from chocolate pizzas to frozen yoghurt and yummy milkshakes. This is the place for anyone with a sweet tooth or someone who just likes cool tunes and a good drink.
BREW - A good coffee or tea and avocado on toast is all I need in the morning. BREW does both of these things at affordable prices. Located in the Queen Street Mall, down a little alleyway (it's probably best to either ask where it is or get some really good directions - otherwise it can be a little confusing), BREW offers a comfy chair, good service, and will have you leaving with a satisfied tummy.
Cactus Republic - This restaurant has a menu of mouth-watering Mexican food and possibly the best margaritas you will ever taste! I would highly recommend either the quesadilla (steak is a good choice of filling) or the tacos, and of course a side of guacamole.
