Some of the food truck world's finest: Lil Nom Noms, Mr Burger, Beatbox Kitchen, White Guy Cooks Thai.

Food trucks have become a huge hit in Melbourne, increasing in popularity as the weather improves throughout the summer as as they become the talk of the town. When I first thought of food trucks, I thought of America but they have created more of a presence now here in Melbourne.

The whole idea with food trucks is that they move to a different location each night allowing people from all over to try their food.

Before the revolution of the 'Where The Truck?' app, food trucks had to be located through social media such as through Twitter or Facebook accounts where they would post their location up a few hours prior and off you go.

With the app having been launched, those with a smart phone are able to easily track and find the locations of certain food trucks and know what time they'll be in a particular spot and how long they would be there for so you don't miss out!

Locations are usually posted 3 hours before serving time so you have time to gather your friends and get your food truck fix.

So far, I've tried White Guy Cooks Thai, Yoghurddiction, Dos Diablos, Lil Nom Noms, Mr Burger and Beatbox Kitchen. All the food is made fresh and to order and everything I've had has not disappointed me yet. Locations are usually by parks so there's always somewhere you can sit or chill while you share your food (or keep all to yourself!).

I personally really like the idea of food trucks; it brings people together with food in an outdoors environment where we can not only enjoy our surroundings and the sunshine bust most importantly, each other's company.

So what are you waiting for? Happy food trucking.

This sounds like a useful app. It is annoying when you find a moving foodie place that you like, and then can't find it again. Is this for all countries or just Australia?

This particular app is for Australian food trucks.

When you say smart phone you mean IPhone. The app is not on Google play or the Samsung app store.
