Chapel Street is one of Melbourne's most well known shopping areas, and it is down this street that you'll find a range of different shopping options. From vintage to designer fashions, and from books to homewares, it can all be found on Chapel Street. It would take you about two days to make your way through all the shops on this long shopping strip.

Bourke Street Mall is another popular place to shop. Here, you'll find the big department stores, and when we say big we mean big. David Jones and Myer consist of not only multiple levels, but multiple buildings as well. These department store giants put a few other states to shame. These are the only things you'll find on Bourke Street Mall. All of the usuals are there like Sportsgirl, Witchery, and Cue. There are also some gorgeous old buildings around here filled with even more fun places to shop.

Chapel Street (South Yarra/Prahran/Windsor) is wonderful and has such range from one end to the other, Bridge Road (Richmond) for some great fashion outlets, Brunswick Street (Brunswick), Smith Street (Fitzroy/Collingwood), Sydney Road (Brunswick), oh there are just too many!

Bridge Road is in Richmond is my favourite shopping strip for its year-round bargains, but it's only a comfortable place to be during temperate weather! I prefer indoor shopping centres because they're always the right temperature and tend to be circular, so it's easy to get to a shop on the other side of the centre, rather than having to walk up the entire shopping strip street to get to the end. I think Chadstone is the best place to shop, because it has a wide variety of shops for any budget. Its two food courts are pretty good too.
