Pop Up Playground: Where in Melbourne is Carmen (or Diego)?

Pop Up Playground has created a new live game for this year's Melbourne International Comedy Festival. In their latest live game, adventure players need to search the streets of Melbourne for clues to discover who stole one of the comedy festival's best jokes.

The two main suspects are Carmen Winnebago and her brother Diego Winnebago. Players have an hour to visit Melbourne landmarks, complete challenges and solve clues that will hopefully lead them to Carmen or Diego and the stolen joke.

The live game features Pop Up Playground actors and guest comedians from the festival, who will pass on intelligence and help players discover the truth and track down the culprit.

Where in Melbourne is Carmen (or Diego)? combines classic adventure games and modern pervasive game design and is a new version of Pop Up Playground's hit street adventure from Melbourne International Games Week 2016.

You can play on your own or in groups of up to five, and will need a fully charged and reliable smartphone to play the game.

According to Pop Up Playground, Where in Melbourne is Carmen (or Diego)? is primarily designed for adult sleuths, but children aged 10 and up may also enjoy the game if playing with adults.

Played outside in the streets of the CBD, the game will involve a fair amount of walking (good walking shoes are recommended!). Using public transport to get around is also allowed and all locations are wheelchair accessible.

The game is being played every Saturday and Sunday from 1 April until 23 April at 4pm and 5.30pm. It starts at City Square, on the corner of Swanston and Collins streets, and runs for 50 to 60 minutes.
