Roller skating is one of the most enjoyable pastimes one can have. Besides being fun, it is also a sport that teaches balance and coordination.
With the introduction of roller derby means this sport, which was losing public attraction, has been given a new lease on life. Interestingly enough, more adults have been given a new angle to fitness and flexibility, with some taking it to the competitive arena.
However, finding a roller skating rink in Auckland can be challenging. I found a rink in Panmure called Skateland, that offers the general public the opportunity to skate for only $6.00 per person, with an additional skate hire from $3.00. They also offer skate classes for kids and adults.
It would be interesting to learn where other roller skating rinks are in the Auckland area, and what type of floor they have? The one in Panmure is made of smooth concrete.
Maybe you know of some outside areas where one could skate? Where can you roller skate in Auckland?
