Are you looking for somewhere romantic to spend Valentine's Day in the Nelson Bay area? Or perhaps you are celebrating an anniversary and want to go somewhere special? The Nelson Bay region has many quality, scenic restaurants that overlook the water, so there are a wide range of options to celebrate the special day. If you like seafood, you are also in luck, with many restaurants specialising in modern Australian cuisine specialising in fresh, Port Stephens seafood. Nothing spells romance more than a platter of fresh prawns and oysters!

Little Beach Boathouse is located right on the water at Little Beach, just a short drive from Nelson Bay. Book a table overlooking the water and enjoy sumptuous seafood and delicacies of the region. As the sun goes down, order a cocktail and relax as the last rays of the day softens everything it touches. Rick Stein at Bannisters Port Stephens is a restaurant that opened up in 2018, much to the delight of seafood lovers all of the region - and beyond. Rick Stein, a popular UK celebrity chef, has a seafood restaurant in Mollymook on the South Coast and thought it was time to open one in Port Stephens, due to its abundance of seafood off its shores. The result is a relaxing, modern and romantic venue to share a bottle of crisp, white wine with expertly-made seafood cuisines. See here for details.



The Point and The Deck are two restaurants located at the Soldiers Point Marina, less than 15 minutes from Nelson Bay. The Deck is downstairs and The Point upstairs and both have scenic views over the water, dolphins swimming metres from the tables and delicious food options on their menu. The Point upstairs is a more fine dining experience which specialises in seafood, whereas The Deck is a more relaxed, family friendly atmosphere specialising in Mediterranean cuisine and seafood dishes. Bay Harbour Café is a casual, budget-friendly seafood venue, located at the end of the Nelson Bay Breakwall, where the fishing trawlers come into the bay. It is a popular venue for lunch, however they also open for dinner between 5pm - 7:30pm for a beautiful seafood feast with a sunset.
