DIY your own special evening, so that you both have everything you love, all in the one night. Why not put together your own cheeseboard and nibbles and take them to your favourite lookout or lakeside park? For those who love a takeaway, pick up a Brodburger and take it down to the Kingston Foreshore, or grab a table at Mookies and share a concrete for dessert. It can be as simple as takeaway, a bottle of wine and your favourite movie, to celebrate Valentine's Day your way.
Telstra Tower is open every night of the week until 10pm, so buy two tickets and spend some time enjoying the sparkling lights of the city from the outdoor viewing platforms. It is budget-friendly and romantic at the same time - as long as other people don't have the same idea!
Take in the 360 degree views of the city by night, from the Telstra Tower outdoor viewing platforms (cost - $7.50 per adult)
For more ideas, why not go to the local cinema, book a GoBoat and spend some time on the lake, postpone the celebrations and spend all weekend dancing at the Multicultural Festival, take a hike up your nearest hill and share a box of chocolates at the top, go out for a romantic breakfast, relax with fish and chips on a picnic blanket or design a treasure map around the city - with you as the treasure! If you have any more romantic, quirky or budget-friendly ideas, please leave a comment at the top of this article (which you can then read down below).
