The search for a great burger can be a common one. Whether it is for a filling dinner, or a 3am food hunt, there is nothing better than a great tasting burger and nothing worse than a disappointing one. I've had my fair share of bad burgers, and some pretty great ones too. During my research I even managed to come across some guys who are doing a
motorcycle trip around Australia to find the perfect burger.
You might not have taken it that far, but chances are there is a little place somewhere that in your opinion does the best burgers ever. I've got a few suggestions of my own, but in no way am I suggesting these ones take first place. I want to hear what you think, and where you recommend. Perhaps we can uncover where you can find the best burger in Australia.
BenBry Burgers, Manly NSW
I hopped on a 30 minute ferry, all to try a BenBry burger on recommendation of a friend. They have a range of gourmet flavours and toppings from beef and chicken, to the vegetarian tofu. Their burgers are big, and packed to the brim. I tried the Tropical Feast, but I reckon they'll all give you a bang for your buck.
Fish Out of Water, Hyde Park SA
Fish Out of Water have a regular burger, it's tasty, it has chicken, fish, or beef. Yes, they have a burger, but then they have the Vicious Burger. Deliciously grilled meat (of your choice) topped with lettuce, jarlsberg or bocconcini, marinated capsicum, olives, eggplant, and a sweet chilli sauce. A flavour hit like nothing I've had before.
Burger Theory, Adelaide SA
These guys come highly recommended from my dad, the best burger ever according to him. They have two simple burger options, one with Angus Beef, tomato, lettuce, cheese, and truck sauce, and the other with Angus Beef, bacon, and a blue cheese sauce. It doesn't really seem to matter what they put in their burgers, because they taste amazing in any combination. Operating out of an American-style food truck, so you've got to track these guys down first because you can try one of their burgers.
So what do you think Australia? We don't really care which Australian has talent, or who can renovate a house. We want to know where we can find the tastiest burgers Australia has to offer.
