The Caboolture Warplane and Flight Heritage Museum is holding a Wheels and Wings event on Sunday September 6th at the Museum in Hangar 101, McNaught Road, Caboolture.
The
Museum is Queensland's only museum dedicated to presenting and preserving Australia's aviation history – especially the history of World War II aircraft – and has a great collection of functioning aircraft, which are available for joy flights.
There's lots on, including the Miss Wheels and Wings Pin up Girl Competition which commences at 11 am, and prizes for the vehicles on display – looking for the best veteran, vintage, classic hot rod and military vehicle. Also there are aircraft prizes with best antique, warplane and longest distance.
There will be a raffle for a Bird Dog joyride and as the raffle will be drawn at 1300 hours (1 pm), there will be time to take the joy flight on the day.
Joy Rides are available in the Warbird, but you must pre-book, though payment will be accepted on the day. Contact the museum on 5499 1144 for further information.
There will be entertainment with the music duo "Me and Jodylee" from 10 am to 1 pm.
For all enquiries call Mark on 0417 490 066, or Chris on 0405 266 465 or email
[email protected]
Entry costs are $25 for a family (2 adults and 2 children), Adult $10, Children $5 and Concession $5. For entrants – vehicles (one driver and one passenger $10, with all extras $5 each), and if arriving by aircraft you are requested to pre-book.
