Dust off your camera, join Rockhampton Photography Group and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor, Jesus Fernando Pacheco Roig. Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers.

Rockhampton Photography Group runs various photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style, open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs, and they take place in various locations in Rockhampton.

Beginner's Photography Class – Saturday, 31 August 2024, starting from 10 am
Located on Spencer Street, Rockhampton, join this workshop and be ready to learn more about your camera and get out of automatic exposure. Jesus Fernando Pacheco Roig will help you learn about shutter speed, aperture, ISO and how these settings affect your exposure. Book here for this 3-hour workshop, $148/participant.

Journalistic Photography – Saturday, 14 September 2024, starting from 10 am
Located on Bolsover Street, Rockhampton, discover the captivating world of journalistic photography with Jesus Fernando Pacheco Roig. In this immersive 2 hours class, you will learn to capture compelling stories through your lens. Book here to join a workshop that suits aspiring photographers, at $47/participant.

Street Photography – Saturday, 28 September 2024, starting from 10 am
Located on Bolsover Street, Rockhampton, join Jesus Fernando Pacheco Roig to "see" interesting detail with the power of observation underpins the art of great street photography, either people, cafes, vendors, street merchants, buskers, historic buildings, art installations and much more.

This is a practised skill as you will be introduced to an easy method that will open your photographer's eye and expose you to a world that is alive with detail. The most rewarding part of the class is learning how to approach interesting people and have them willingly pose for you. With this 2 hours workshop, you will also go over settings, focusing techniques and lens choices common to street photography to help us capture those random chance encounters. It is recommended to bring a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones are also welcome.
