Henley Beach Blessing of the Waters and Greek Festival

The 11th of January sees the Greek Orthodox Community of South Australia hold its annual Blessing of the Waters ceremony and Festival at Henley Square. Every January, the Greek Orthodox Church blesses the sea, the shores, the islands and all those whose livelihood depends on the sea.

There's plenty of traditional Greek food, music and dance. It's free entry all day. The ceremony is an interesting and is unique and sacred. All are welcome to watch. Details here.

Adelaide Wine Markets

Perfect for summer, the next market is called Rosé Rumble and will focus on a fave summer wine – ROSE! Entry is from $35 with a wine glass provided on entry for your tastings from regions all over SA. It's at the Market Shed on Holland, 1 Holland Street in the city. Food stalls, a bar and live music will be on from 5pm – 10pm to keep you entertained. Stay tuned here.

Tour Down Under

The SANTOS Tour Down Under has become one of world cycling's big events. The official men's and women's UCI cycling events take place in Adelaide and surrounding regions with challenging courses, sprints and hill climbs. There's always plenty going on around the tour as it travels. Plenty of start and finish locations hold street parties; or you can visit the tour village in Victoria Square and mingle with the crews. Everyone can participate in gruelling challenge tour events to test themselves on the same route the professionals use. There's even tour events for the kids! Glenelg Street Party

Jetty Road at Glenelg is throwing another twilight Street Party on the eve of the start of the fifth stage of the Tour Down Under. Held on Friday the 24th January from 5 pm to 11 pm, it'll be an evening of family-friendly fun, filled with food, shopping, fashion parades, activities for the kids, roaming entertainment and live music. Shakespeare in the Vines

Once again during Crush Festival, Deviation Road Winery hosts its popular annual sell-out event, Shakespeare in the Vines. Essential Theatre performs Macbeth. Be taken on a journey with them as the sun sets and the bards' witches come out to play! Tickets available here.

Civic Park Ausday

Celebrate Australia Day in Civic Park with a day of festivities on Sunday 26 January. Civic Park will be buzzing with free family entertainment like huge inflatables, rides and sideshows, music, face painting for the kids and a variety of food vendors. This year the event will host local businesses and heaps of stallholders at the new all-new Ausday markets next to the playground on Civic Park! It's all happening in the park from 10am to 3pm. Australia Day in the City


Australia Day in the City is a huge event from the City of Adelaide. There'll be a parade, concert and fireworks. The Parade makes its way to Elder Park on the 26th and includes over a 150 community groups, cars, bands, floats, and. It's even got a flypast by an F-18 Hornet! Just after the parade, there'll be a free concert followed by fireworks. It's a great way to celebrate Australia Day with the family. Check the details here.

Crush Festival
