Markets, Easter egg hunts, an art show, festival & carnival

Flinders Market: is a cute little country market with about 100 stalls offering vintage, retro, handmade crafts, pre - owned clothing, kids rides, fresh food and produce, lots of books and more. This market is only held a few times a year at the Flinders cricket ground between 9am - 2pm on Sunday the 20th. A small parking fee applies with funds going to the local CFA.

Mad Hatters Tea Party at Boneo Maze: The action kicks off on Easter Saturday with an Alice in Wonderland inspired morning tea followed by a themed Mad Hatter Play. Easter Sunday is the day of the 'Mega Easter egg hunt' along with a high energy performance called 'A pocket full of joy' with live music, dancing and puppetry. The Boneo maze has 3 mazes, mini golf, wetlands and boardwalks. A family entry costs $80. For more info click here.

This art show has prize money totaling over $6,000 so competition should be high with a large quantity of professional quality artworks with some also being offered for sale. Entry to the art show is $5. More information can be found here.

Red Hill Market: is one of the most popular craft markets in Victoria and also one of the longest running markets. Red hill market is on Saturday the 19th with over 300 stalls offering craft, homemade cakes and treats, plants, art, wine, clothing, and so much more. Everything is homebaked, homegrown and hand made. You will find the market at the Red Hill Reserve in Red Hill between 8am - 1pm. Parking costs $4 and no dogs are allowed. Mornington Main St Market: is a special Easter market held in the Main St of Mornington on Saturday the 19th between 9am - 2pm. You can expect to find everything that is homemade, homegrown and home baked. There is a strong emphasis on children's clothing and accessories perfect for the young family. Mornington Easter Races: might not sound like something for the kids on Easter Sunday but with free jumping castle, face painting, balloon modeller, Easter craft workshops, Easter bunny meet and greet and a free Easter egg hunt for children aged 10 and under I am sure they will have fun. The first race is at 12:40pm and the last at 5:04pm. Take a picnic rug and a hamper and enjoy Easter on the lawn at the Mornington Races. Entry cost is $12 for adults, $8 for concession and under 15 years are free.

Sandsational Easter Egg Hunt: whilst this event is not technically on the Mornington Peninsula it is only a few kilometers away. This Easter egg hunt is a little different than traditional hunts with children asked to find sand eggs amongst the 'Storyland' sand sculpting exhibition in Frankston in exchange for a bag of chocolate eggs. The easter hunt will take place on Saturday 19th at Frankston Waterfront. For more details including entry fees click here.

Thankyou so much for this - we have had a house on the Peninsula for 12 years and yet I never knew we could do all this stuff at easter with the kids - I am thoroughly looking forward to some easter fun now (plus I also looked at your other mornington peninsula post and loved those ideas too!) so many thanks from us!
