As a larger Queensland regional centre, Bundaberg is a happening place! The local organisers indeed have many events on for October 2021:
The two main online sources for Bundaberg events are
eventbrite.com.au and
whatsonbundaberg.com.au, so what features below are many selected events from the plethora of possible events on those websites and some recommendations for finding and attending events in "Bundy".
Accessible by long-distance bus and
train, plane from Brisbane at the Bundaberg Airport and self-drive, many holiday options are possible, while
taxis and
Uber are available in Bundaberg. Don't forget that
Mon Repos turtle viewing season is nearing commencement as well!
There are also many surrounding beach townships such as Elliot Heads, Moore Park Beach, Bargara and Woodgate, while charming inland towns of Childers, Biggenden and Gin Gin make for a fascinating place for a holiday catering to all tastes and interests.
The Events
Every day till mid-November is the
Legacy: Reflections on Mabo art exhibition at the Regional Art Gallery in 1 Barolin Street Bundaberg, while at the same gallery till the end of October is the
Ayuva Meenha art exhibition about the Injinoo at Cape York. On a more south sea islander theme at the gallery is the
Sitting Down Place art exhibition. All events at the regional gallery are walk-in and are not official openings.
At the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre,177 Bourbong Street Bundaberg, are many events that month, including a visit from
the Travelling Film Festival. Tickets are on sale for the event, with further information linked above for your convenience.
From Ballistic Brewing (established in 2016), there is for 25 dollars
a guided brewery tour (ticket purchases are on that link from Eventbrite) with tastings on October 2, at 10 Tantitha Street, Bundaberg Central, QLD 4670.
The interesting
Paint for Polio event from Eventbrite with
further information including tickets linked here, is an event about eradicating the surprisingly persistent global virus of Polio. Despite it being easy to believe it not existing, instead, it exists yet the world is very close to eradicating it. This fundraising night involves unleashing your inner artist guided by a trained artist in a tropical garden setting enjoying a laugh with other attendees and a glass of wine or two.
In the nearby inland town of Gin Gin are ongoing Pilates classes held every Wednesday at the neighbourhood centre, with
further information linked here. That's on each week from 2 to 3 PM.
For those with a substantial budget wanting the ideal yoga retreat, it isn't much more idyllic than heading out on the high seas to
Lady Musgrave Island for this retreat. At $1788 (AUD) dollars for a full day of yoga and wellness surrounded by turquoise waters and coral, it is a big event run on October 15 for four full days, with
further information linked here.
Towards the month's end on October 30 is a health workers' cultural competency day event, with
further details linked here on eventbrite. This 8.45 AM to 3 PM session offers the chance to think more about cultural awareness when treating indigenous clients.
Also towards the month's end on October 23 is Bundy's biggest party! At Bundaberg Recreational Precinct - University Drive, Bundaberg is a great concert/dance party, namely the DAYZFEST, with more information
found here and at
dayzfest.com.au.
