Join Cheryl Nonmus from Paintbox Art School at the Maroochy Arts and Ecology Centre, to create one-of-a-kind Christmas cards. Children will have fun studying the beautiful shape and colours of the Rainbow Lorikeet. Before Santa embarks on his very long trip around the world, he always manages to find time to stop in at Mooloolaba Beach to visit all the boys and girls of the Sunshine Coast. Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club's unique event welcomes Santa onto the beach with a surf boat (weather permitting); then there's a photo opportunity with Santa on the beach, followed by plenty of lollies. Santa is due to arrive on the beach at about 5.30pm. At 6.30pm there will be a dazzling fireworks show, followed by a second set of fireworks at 9.00pm.
The Sunshine Coast Council provides support to a number of events through sponsorship and its Community Grants programme. All events marked with a star in this article fall into this category.
