Sunday, August 3rd will see the Redcliffe Botanic Gardens come to life with a flurry of activity. The Moreton Bay Regional Council's annual event, "What's cooking in the gardens?" will see a myriad of exciting activities taking place with something for all ages, making it a great family day out.
This one won't hurt your hip pocket, either! A gold coin donation entry makes this a real value-for-money day for everyone. Special guests, My Kitchen Rules couple, Carly and Tresne will MC the event and will be joining other award-winning chefs on the day. Dominique Rizzo from Channel 10's Ready, Steady, Cook will also be cooking on the day. With cooking demonstrations, tastings, workshops, kids activities and the chance to speak with gardening, food and wine gurus this is shaping up to be a fun event for young and old. The program is too large to mention everything and is jam packed with interesting activities. For more information and to see the full program, check out the website.
Councillor, Koliana Winchester said this event was designed to inspire adults and children to embrace their love of gardens and great food. She said, "It's important for children to understand where food comes from and how it is grown."
Don't forget to check out the actual gardens whilst you are there. There are lovely, large, open grassed areas for you to enjoy so consider taking a picnic and enjoy the great outdoors. Free parking will be available and a regular shuttle service will be running from Redcliffe Showgrounds to the Redcliffe Botanic Gardens from 8.15am - 3.45pm.
