I recently visited the upcountry, Nuwara Eliya, for a weekend visit with my family. And the experience was awesome, just escaping the hot climate of Colombo. The travel restrictions were eased a bit in the past few weeks, which enabled me to take up this travelling opportunity.
I got a lovely mountain overview shot from a higher position. The climate is lovely and cold, the perfect place to relax with my family. I hope to keep coming back very soon. By far, this is my favourite place to visit in Sri Lanka; it's the perfect weekend getaway to unwind and relax. Travelling by train is a great thrill thanks to the breathtaking mountain scenery.
In Sri Lanka, it is regarded to be the most significant site for tea production because of its position at an elevation of 1,868 metres (6,128 feet). Pidurutalagala, Sri Lanka's highest peak, towers above the city, providing a panoramic view. Sri Lanka's Nuwara Eliya is renowned for its moderate and mild temperature - it is the country's coolest region.
In my view, Nuwara Eliya is a must-see destination in Sri Lanka. While the landscape and natural beauty of Sri Lanka were simply breathtaking, it was also very fascinating to learn about one of the country's most important exports - tea! Even if you're just there for one night, it's certainly worth your time to check it out.
