I was chatting with my health conscious six-year-old cousin not so long ago about the fruit that she and I enjoyed. It turned out we didn't have that much in common. Be that as it may, it nevertheless sparked my curiosity about people's personal favourites when it came to fruity choices.

I think the packet below pretty much explains what prunes are about. I can't wait to unseal it and get stuck into such natural goodness. To me they're quite rich so it's usually never more than half a dozen at a time. They're always best consumed refrigerated.

Now it's time to go bananas. If you're looking for a good pick me up, bananas could very well be a suitable alternative to that caffeine fix in the event of three-thirty-itis. At all other times you simply cannot go wrong when it comes to your intake of potassium and Vitamin B6.

If you're in the mood for a sweet treat, then strawberries are a wonderful choice. Rich in Vitamin C, these red delights are a great alternative to oranges if you prefer to pass up the acidity that oranges often bring.

Ah, maybe less popular than bananas, prunes and strawberries are pomegranates. I used to consume them in a chilled beverage. Just don't get their bloody juice on your clothes as you'll never get it off.

It's such a pity that lightning does not strike the same place twice because apparently that's what it takes for these guys to ripen. Maybe this explains why pomegranates tend to be more on the expensive side and not just because the lightning happens to burn a hole in your pocket.

Jokes aside, pomegranates are probably the healthiest out of the other fruits on offer. They are rich in A-grade antioxidants and can reduce blood pressure and lower cholesterol.

Now it's over to you, folks. I know it may be hard to select only one favourite fruit, so I'll make an exception – choose your top three (or two) favourite fruits. But if you have only one favourite, then by all means make it short and sweet.
