A new page has popped up on Facebook, but the FSSLSC aren't providing much more information than a few lifesaver themed images and some catchy riddles. Pegged as a new arts/entertainment/nightlife venue opening in November, FSSLSC promises to be the 'hottest new pop up in Adelaide,' but at the moment we're just trying to find out what it's about.
The page recently posted this riddle to keep Facebook fans guessing:
"We have heard of something brewing in Adelaide's nook.
Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back. We call on you, Little Nippers, this is not a hack.
Stay tuned for more Cluedo clues,
This is the place to shake off your winter blues."
Someone has already questioned whether FSSLSC stands for 'Frome Street Surf Life Saving Club'. The corner of Frome and Pirie is home to City Beach volleyball courts, a sandy corner of the city that would make the perfect location for a beach themed pop up bar.
If we're looking at streets, there's also Franklin Street--previously home to pop up venue the Depot. Perhaps that space could be redeveloped for something new in 2014/15.
The FSSLSC Facebook page has been shared by pop up food gurus, the Happy Motel, stating: "Remember that time Rod Stewart played at Copacabana Beach? Picture that. In Adelaide. But without Rod Stewart and much smaller. "
There's no word whether they're planning the venue or just putting out the word. They've previously had a hand in Adelaide Festival venues Barrio and Lola's Pergola, and have thrown big food parties at Alpha Box & Dice, Coriole Winery, and the now demolished Four Words Warehouse. If they're involved it's a good sign.
Do you have an inkling of what to expect? Let us know any of your thoughts and postulations in the comments, and make sure you stay tuned to the FSSLSC Facebook page for more hints and the ultimate reveal. Word is we'll all know a little bit more come November.
