It's 5am and I wake to my alarm clock. It's time to get out of bed and get ready.

Did I mention its 2020, you know that year where Coronavirus was adamant? Nope, I just did right? So let's move on to the next big question, that's been bombarding my thoughts - can I skip this year?

February 2020, I sadly had to stop writing for my company as Coronavirus had hit our customers and the company, and not many people were super into blog writing. March 2020. I had a third stroke. Yeah, this year was not looking very great so far.

Now it's August 2020, and no I haven't gotten my writing job yet, but what have found is:

  • READING. I already knew this before but once again I'm reminded how much passion I have for the written word. It's powerful. Let's you learn a new perspective. I have bogged down my Kindle with a lot of books to love.

  • MUSIC. Never have I had more of a passion for music as I've had during this time. I want to shout out at the top of my lungs, 'Thank you!' From artists like James Arthur to the good old classics by Ella Fitzgerald. Thank you for sharing to the world and to my somewhat quiet soul. For bringing it back to life, where the world had turned grey and black has now lightened up with colours filling my life.

  • BREAKS. Like the Coronavirus had brought to many others, it's also brought a much-needed break. Like a compulsory one, I've been forced to actually rest which as I mentioned before, with having a stroke, I was longing for a nice rest.

  • TRAVEL. Yes, I know that as we are all in quarantine, a lot has changed. The most important thing is where we can travel but it's also forced me to take a look at my closer scenery. We moved temporarily to live with family and I am loving the Sunshine Coast.

  • LOVE. Like many girlfriends, I love reading, music and the love in my marriage, which has only been magnified by this time. While time can suck at this time, it also offers much opportunity to see and feel love. Those prolonged snuggles are so dear to me and I hope you were able to get them too.

  • So would I change back time and erase this year?

I would like to say no. Now, now, before you get angry, I hate the terrible things the world has seen because of Coronavirus but take a minute and count the good, or help uncover things that we have been unintentionally ignored. There's no such thing as turning the past around, all we can do is learn and grow. As we hopefully come out of these dark times, let's go out and spread hope and love that we can all make a better world for you, me and that guy on the street you see every day. It's the little things that count. Remember what you have rather than what you lack.
