We are coming to the tail end of Stage Four lockdown in Melbourne, with Sunday the 13th of September marking six weeks since the new rules were enacted. Food shopping, caregiving, local exercise, and work are the only reasons we should be out of the house (within curfew hours) in order to stop the spread of Covid-19 throughout the community. It is no secret that many are finding the isolation of lockdown to be difficult, not to mention the financial pressures that many are experiencing or anticipating.

While it is unclear what the restrictions will be when Stage Four expires, it can help to think about what activities you wish to do when you get the opportunity. Experiences we used to take for granted - going out with friends, taking local getaways, and travel - are out of the question while a pandemic is going on. It may take some time before these activities become safe - so let's daydream for now.

Once the state begins to open up again, I am looking forward to socialising, going out to restaurants, and experiencing the city. I'd love to hear what others have planned when the restrictions are eased or lifted.

What is the first thing you are going to do when Stage Four ends?
