Brisbane has become a hub of some of the most wonderful festivals, both big and small, celebrating culture, music, arts and more. Here is a list of Brisbane's annual festivals that I have come across with links to articles covered by the weekendnotes team.
This list is by no means exhaustive so let us know what your favourite festival is!
This yearly festival oozes heaps of fun! With lots of zorba dancing, plate smashing, honey puff eating and Greek cooking to go around, this is an event that everyone will love! Held at Musgrave Park in West End.
The Ekka is Queensland's largest annual agricultural event showcasing culture, produce and initiatives through a range of competitions, exhibits, animals and performances. This plus a whole range of entertainment including fun rides, firework displays and showbags make the Ekka an all time family favourite.
This is an annual arts festival, taking place over three weeks and celebrating music, theatre, dance, comedy and circus. There are many free as well as ticketed events. Enjoy free live music at the River Quay and the spectacular Riverfire event and fireworks display at the end of the festival.
Taking place at the RNA Showgrounds, Oktoberfest is Australia's largest German festival! Including everything from Barvarian music bands, gourmet foods, hand-crafted german beers, to dancing, yodelling and cow-bell ringing. This is an event not to be missed!
