Fresh-water crayfishing has become one of my favourite pastimes, it's a great R & R session that helps me recharge. The thrill of yanking the nets out of the water and seeing a cray in there is simply exhilarating and never gets old.

You can find me on forums and Google maps looking for that perfect creek or river that may have potential to bear a gargantuan Crayfish. You need to have patience when you go crayfishing, and refrain from checking the net every 5 minutes, it takes time for them to make their way to the bait. So sit back, have a drink and relax.

I've listed some of my favourite spots for this great Australian pastime, where have you been crayfishing?

1. Woori Yallock Creek, Yellingbo
2. Blackburn Lake, Blackburn
3. Blue Rock Lake, Willow Grove
4. Boggy Creek, Nowa Nowa
5. Yarra River, Warbuton

Also don't forget to purchase your fishing licence and adhere to bag catch limits & size restrictions.

And you're referring to fresh water crayfish. Best to clarify.
