Today I had a wonderful lunch at , 10 Rosetta Street, Croydon (just near the underpass).
The cafe is a fabulous blend of food, coffee and brilliant recycled clothing and goods.
I was welcomed to What a Treat as soon as I walked in the door. The staff are chatty and ever so friendly.
I had a chicken and mixed salad plate with a mug of great SA bean coffee. Natasha makes many of the dishes fresh daily. Some firm cafe favourites are the Lemon Slice, Chocolate Brownies, the range of healthy and gluten free salads and the Weekend Brekkie Treat - made from free range eggs and short cut bacon.
The pumpkin, feta, chick pea, spinach and pine nut salad is outstanding and is fast becoming the cafe's trademark dish.
I was fortunate to have been offered a chocolate brownie - hand made to a secret recipe by Natasha. It was easy to see why it's becoming a best seller with their ever growing and loyal customer base.
Natasha is proud that any of the food and goods that are not made on site are sourced from local suppliers - What a Treat are proudly South Australian and actively support SA businesses and local artists. Every month a local artist is offered exhibition space within the cafe. Currently on show are artworks by Michelle Hosting, who's work is supporting Mental Health Week.
The recycled goods are placed throughout the store, with vintage clothing for sale in the rear room. The cafe seating is comfortable, the staff are warm and friendly, the food and coffee are fantastic - I'd highly recommend a visit.
