Wine on the Wharf
Goolwa Wharf is an exciting place to visit with lots to see and do.

The Oscar W, a majestic Paddle Steamer built in 1908, is moored there and offers regular cruises to the public.

Nearby is the Goolwa Riverboat Centre which houses exhibits, photos and information about the heritage of the River Murray, the town of Goolwa and, of course, the riverboats.

Right next to the Riverboat Centre, you'll find The Wharf Barrel Shed.

It's more wine bar than cellar door and is proving extremely popular with locals and visitors alike. The opening, almost two years ago was a long time dream-come-true for Steve Ramsey, a former public servant and co-owner of 90 Mile Wines.

The Wharf Barrel Shed is open seven days a week for delicious local wine, locally crafted beers, good coffee and tasty snacks.

There's live music most Sunday afternoons and Friday evenings showcase some of the excellent musical talent Goolwa has to offer, as well as acts from further afield.

It's a great place for a drink before or after dinner or a good cup of coffee through the day. If you join the loyalty club, you are known as a 'Wharfie' much to the delight of members, who receive discounts as well as invites to Wharf Barrel functions and events.

The local Yacht Club holds races most Friday evenings during the summer and other times throughout the year. The Wharf Barrel venue is in the ideal location for watching the boats pass by.

Lately a resident seal has been spotted in the river. Yes, there is a seal in the river. And there's always a few pelicans standing guard.
