A laugh out loud theatre performance
Whether you are political or not, this laugh out loud and satire theatre performance is one that will certainly fill your evening with humour. The Wharf Revue is a production based on current politics and is playing at the Riverside Theatre, Parramatta.
Paul Keating once said that politicians come in three varieties: straight men, fixers and maddies and no doubt they all were knocked down a peg or two with this spectacular theatre performance written and created by Jonathan Biggins, Drew Forsythe and Phillip Scott.
The production mercilessly mocked the usual suspects- no political party was left untouched, nor cultural shibboleth unmauled in this hilarious performance. Do note that it contains mild course language and adult themes.
It consisted of musical and dialogue moments which all contained humour throughout. It was a smorgasbord of satirical goodness from the movers to the shakers and from the winners to the losers.
The cast (Jonathan Biggins, Drew Forsythe, Katrina Retalick and Phillip Scott) performed with perfection and the costumes as well as props were entertaining and creative.
According to the Daily Review "What's so brilliant…is how the material constantly falls between sharp, incisive satire and deliriously cheap gags…" and this quote is spot on! Be sure to scribble in the date and enjoy an evening of pure adult laughter!
The production will also be showcasing at other venues and dates. For Wollongong performances click here, Canberra Shows click here and Belrose click here
