Op Shopping features as one of my favourite things to do, along with eating, walking and having tea parties with women friends. There were already quite a number of lovely Op Shops in Goolwa but now there's another and this one's called an 'Opp Shop'. It's a fair orthographical call, since 'opportunity has two p's and this sets it apart from the other six 'Op Shops' in Goolwa.
Whaler Emporium Opp Shop can be found at 45 Governor Street and it's open from 9.30am Monday till Saturday.

Whalers Emporium
There are lots of second-hand clothes representing quite a few eras and a wide range of children's toys.

Children's toys
For those who have outgrown toys, there is also a wide range of books and jigsaw puzzles.

Books and Puzzles
There are shelves full of household goods; crockery, electrical items, cutlery, ornaments, pictures, bric-a-brac and more.

Crockery
My favourite shelves are those displaying sparkly glass things. I'm sure I was a Bower Bird in a previous life as I love all things shiny, in particular, glass. I'm building a bottle wall in my house at the moment so I avariciously emptied the shelves of a few coloured glass bottles for my project.

Glassware - my favourite
Whalers Emporium Op Shop is not only well stocked with a wide range of everything but it seems to have a policy of generosity; they sometimes have 'special offers'. When I visited last week I was given a sizeable shopping bag and told I could fill it to the brim and only pay $5. Imagine that. A full shopping bag of treasures for $5. I did well that day, even though I practised rare restraint and didn't fill my shopping bag completely.
