The Art House

Come to Whalebone at the Art House n Wyong on the 2nd of May to be entranced by dazzling video and computer animations, as well as flying objects, just a pinch of circus fun in this rich and visual theatrical experience to take kids and adults in a rollercoaster ride of fun and awe.

The performance of Whalebone is one of eccentric contraptions and strange machinery, with lots of clunky inventions like the world’s first half-human juggling machine – what will they think of next?

Whalebone is set in a mysterious place called the ‘Depository’, where you will meet a lone worker who has a mission in a world where AI and machines have gone rogue and have set about making decisions for humans left, right and centre. In response, the worker sets out to safeguard human stories, memories, and emotions in the face of machines taking over. You will laugh out loud, be gasping in awe and you can let your imagination soar as you explore a future that could happen, where we don’t know how things will play out.

This is a show that will ignite the curiosity of young inventors, and spark something in everyone who loves stories and the wonders of life. Whalebone also invites audiences to think about the role of technology in our lives and the way we rely on it for so many things – some things that we possibly don’t need it for either. So it can spark a conversation about what defines us as humans.

Whalebone is on at 6pm on the 2nd of May, and runs for 55 minutes with no interval, and has a post-show Q&A. The target audience is ages six to twelve and families.

Those attending should be warned that there are fast-paced video effects and twitchy sounds. It will take place in the Studio, so there is general unassigned seating, and call the Box Office to discuss accessibility and wheelchair needs.
