Hervey Bay's Acrobatic Whales
Did you know a Humpback Whale calf weighs almost a tonne and guzzles up to 600 litres of milk a day? Visit Hervey Bay this winter and see these majestic giants for yourself.

Through winter and as late as November visitors will have the opportunity to witness these acrobatic visitors as they first travel up the coast to the warm coral sea waters and then back down to their Antarctic feeding grounds.

Hervey Bay is internationally recognized as a prime whale-watching destination and there's never been a better time to visit. Since 1992 the number of whales entering the bay has increased from under 2000 to around 7000.

Operators guarantee whale sightings

Hervey Bay is unique among whale watching destinations in that the whales actually stop for up to 10 days to rest, play and socialise.

As the oldest whale-watching destination in Australia, the expertise and professionalism of the operators in Hervey Bay are second to none. There are about six operators offering whale-watching tours out of Hervey Bay's Urangan Harbour, with a range of options including half and full day tours.
