It may be heating up in Queensland as we slide into summer, but residents of and visitors to the Fraser Coast can cool off for free at this waterfront park that caters to children and adults alike.
WetSide Water Park is located at the Main Street and Esplanade Junction at Pialba (drive the length of the Esplanade and you can't miss it). The large public park offers a variety of wet weather activities for children with several communal areas that can be accessed for free and a handful of paid activities on hand.
Parents, babysitters and anyone else who doesn't want to get wet are also catered for. A large, shaded seating area overlooks the park and an onsite cafe, restaurant and fish and chip shop provide a selection of drinks and meals.
The main section of the park contains a spread of play areas for different age groups, from shallow paddling pools...
to playgrounds and buckets for older children.

Don't forget to snap a pic of the silver whale!
The park is free to enter and use, however, there are a couple of rides that require payment. The large waterslide is $6.50 for 10 rides, while the FlipSide surfing simulation ride is $7.50. Ride passes can be purchased from the kiosk onsite. These rides are typically only operational during school holidays, so check
the website before you go to avoid disappointment.
During the Queensland school holidays, WetSide is open seven days a week from 10am - 5pm. You can find opening hours for the rest of the year
here.
