Fun For Everyone at Hastings

The ever-versatile Hastings Foreshore will be thriving with an eclectic array of exhibits and activities during the 46th Western Port Festival.

Running right across the weekend; Friday 20th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd Feburary 2015, the Festival will be be broadcast on 98.7RRP FM, featuring highlights from the street parade, classic car show and water ski display.

Carnival rides, market, classic car show, model aircraft show, freestyle mini-bike show, scooter comp there is so much to see and do.

You'll find a FREE kids corner, woodchop competition, live music, art and craft, community displays and more.

The Street Parade will be along the High Street, Hastings on Saturday 21st February from 12.15pm to 1.30pm. Featuring local community groups, social and sporting clubs and schools, with every entrant in the parade competing for prizes in several categories.

The Tyabb Scouts will be providing a FREE community BBQ from the Rotary Shelter on Friday 20th February from 6pm until all the sausages are gone.

Classic cars will be lining up again for your viewing pleasure on Saturday 21st February from 2pm until 6pm along High Street between Queen Street and Marine Parade. Enjoy this exhibit FREE, however please make a donation to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute while you are there.

How do those woodchoppers move so fast? See for yourself on Saturday 21st February from 2pm (after the Street Parade) to 6pm, when the Victorian Woodchopping Titles return to Western Port. Conducted by the Central Victorian Axemen's Association, some of the Australia's best will be turning out to compete.

The Model Aircraft Airshow will be on display. Please see the program closer to the date for exact times and features.

Don't miss the FIREWORKS on Saturday 21st February from 9.30pm to 9.45pm.

The Art & Craft Exhibit is being held again at the Hastings Community House over the weekend and will include roaming theatrical performances, community information and a local achievement table.

In a warm-up for Moomba, Southern Waters Ski Show Team will be presenting water ski shows throughout the festival. Keep your eyes on the water for some amazing stunts.

See a revival of the Miss Shire of Hastings Quest, which has lain dormant these last 20 years. This year it's back and rebranded the 'Miss Western Port Pageant.' The competition is open to contestants aged between 16 to 28 years who live in the Western Port region, are positive role models and active in the local community. Contestant information is available on the web page.

The Hastings Foreshore is located on Marine Parade, coming off the C777 Western Port Highway.

Hastings is part of the Mornington Peninsula, approximately 73km or 57 minutes drive from Melbourne CBD. It faces the western shore, Westernport Bay and is home to a large strip of speciality shops, all major supermarkets and a large department store.

There is parking along the foreshore for a gold coin donation. There is also parking behind the shopping strip.

For train travellers, you will need to change at the Frankston Station to the Stony Point Diesel Service. From there, it is a 22 minute ride.

Public buses also operate from Frankston station direct to Hastings (Zone 2).

Entry to the festival is FREE and this is a family friendly, alcohol free event.
