This is the circus event of the year
If you love the circus or want to learn all about circus and acrobatics, then don't miss the 2018 Western Australia Circus Festival this January.
It is being held at a beautiful private property in Karridale (near Margaret River) in the south-west. There will be more than 100 circus, cabaret, comedy and theatre stars, along with the effervescent gypsy funk and hillbilly bands.
As an added bonus, during this festival, you will be able to camp onsite where there will be about 3000 festival-goers camping along with you! By doing this, you will be able to enjoy the early morning yoga sessions, as well as the adult's only cabaret late into the night, and you will have no problems with drinking and driving. Best of all, camping is free.
There will be five big tops, two bars and many delightful artworks, lighting displays and other intriguing things to be found down every garden path. This is a festival experience that has elements of Burning Man, Germany's Dockville, and UK's Glastonbury Circus Quarter.
I have only been to one circus festival and it was such great fun and fascinating to watch. In today's world, we all seem to need some enjoyment and relaxation and here you are sure to get both.
Take a break from computers, phones and come in close to watch people who can move their bodies in incredible mind-blowing ways, whilst pushing the very limits of human endurance and making you almost hold your breath in awe! During the last few years, Australia has become renowned internationally for its high-quality circus shows which regularly win awards at all the major arts festivals across Europe, Asia and America.
The first release line-up includes a number of premier Australian circus companies including:
The unique acrobatic troupe Casus
Award-winning festival favourite and comedy duo, The Birdman and Egg
Multigenerational adagio, A Good Catch with the indomitable Debra Batton
Local legends, The Pitts Family Circus
There will also be the following:
Sketch comedy and circus catastrophe Laser Kiwi (New Zealand)
German speed-juggler Marc Dorffner
Cabaret of David Eriksson (Sweden)
Fabian Galouÿe, French master of diabolo

This is just a few of the artists appearing at this fabulous festival. It will be an epic event, so make sure you mark the Australia Day long weekend in your calendar or you will miss out.

If you are not comfortable camping, there are places you can book to stay at and you can see some of these here. It will be three days of non-stop circus, music, comedy, market stalls, bars, and gourmet food.
The workshops and music will continue very late and there will also be a children's' programme.
