Set in New York City during the mid-1950s, West Side Story is a modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet. It explores the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds. The members of the Sharks, from Puerto Rico, are taunted by the Jets, a white gang.
The production will feature Nigel Huckle as Tony, Sophie Salvesani as Maria, Noah Mullins as Riff, Angelina Thomson as Anita and Temujin Tera as Bernardo, Ritchie Singer as Doc, Paul Dawber as Lt. Schrank, Berynn Schwerdt as Officer Krupke and Paul Hanlon as Glad Hand.
Completing the cast include Joshua Taylor, Nicholas Collins, Christian Ambesi, Nathan Pavey, Jake O'Brien, Sebastien Golenko, Molly Bugeja, Natasha O'Hehir, Angelica Di Clemente, Taylah Small, Sarah Dimas, Tomáš Kantor, Rania Potaka-Osborne, Noah Missell, Max Bimbi, David Aranjo, Brady Kitchingham, Grace Driscoll, Elysha Manik, Nikki Croker, Amba Fewster, Amelia Sanzo, Matthew Jenson, Jade Coutts, Nicholas Jones and Daniel Wijngaarden.
