Fire Spinners, Music & Brilliant Performances @ West End
What are you doing on Saturday evening 12th October 2019? Are you up for a fun evening at the West End Fire Fest being held at Orleigh Park from 5.00 to 10.00pm?
Hosted by Jaron Walker, this is a free community event where sitting back on a blanket around fires, Flow Arts, food trucks and lots of music is the type of relaxation everyone needs. There is something magical about watching a fire flickering through the night air as the embers create a vision of dancing flames before your eyes.
The Fire Show will be performed by The Wandering Circus, which is a New Zealand troupe having first toured in their home country in 2018. They offered workshops and youth programs in every town or city they visited and displayed their talent and expertise in different styles of flow art, aerials, dance, clowning, music and spoken word through live performances at festivals, children's events, circus cabaret and community events. This year, they have brought their show to Australia and you will get the opportunity to see them perform at the West End Fire Fest.
Flow Arts can be learnt right here in Brisbane through The Sideshow, West End. There are several workshops offered to suit every interest.

Local fire spinners will also be giving a performance, however, only five spinners can be in the circle at any given time. All spinners must adhere to the strict requirements of no fire breathing, no kerosene, no shell-light and no poi circle burn-offs. Please use the fuelling areas provided and use spin off jars for fire poi. Respect the grass, environment and earth around you. The circle is an 18 area only, so parents please make sure you know where your children are in the park.
Truly one of West End's hidden gems; if you haven't enjoyed a night like this before, now is the time. Dogs are welcome; however, they must always be kept on a leash. Toilets are located next to the playground and parking is available in front of the park and in nearby streets.
Orleigh Park is located at 24 Hill End Terrace, West End. If coming by Ferry, exit at West End Ferry Terminal for a ten-minute walk or if taking the bus, hop-off at Stop 14, Montague Road at Cordeaux Street.
