The West Brisbane Orchid Society Inc "Charity Orchid Spectacular 2014" is on this Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st August.

Beautiful flowering orchids will be en masse for display and judging at the auditorium at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens from 8:30am to 3:30pm on Saturday and from 8:30am to 3pm on Sunday with plant sales closing at 3:30pm Saturday and 2:45pm on the Sunday.

The plant sale area will have a wide variety of inexpensive orchids that grow in the Brisbane area.

An orchid is the perfect present for Dad on Father's Day next weekend or perhaps start an addictive hobby yourself!

If you are mainly interested in buying orchids, you are encouraged to get in early on Saturday, however new supplies of plants will come in on Sunday morning as well.

There will also be plenty of free expert advice whether you're just getting started with orchids or are a seasoned grower.

Entry is $4 and the charity supported is The Kidney Support Network. No bookings are required - all are welcome to come along.

Please note there are no credit card facilities or ATMs on site, so make sure to bring cash.

Food and drinks will also be available for purchase at the tea room in the auditorium.
