Werribee's City Centre will be transformed after dark at the Winter Street Party in Werribee City Centre on Friday 30 June 2017 from 4pm to 9pm. Best of all, its a free event to attend and is supported by the Wyndham Business & Tourism Association.
There's a lot of fun to be had for both kids and adults alike, and activities will be spread over 4 precincts. Station Place, Wedge Street Piazza, Watton Street and the Cultural Centre will each hold its own entertainment. There'll be light installations, live music, movies, fire performances and city traders serving up warming winter treats. The Sonic Light Bubble will be the stunning highlight. A light installation by ENESS, it responds to human touch and is 6 metres in diameter and 4.5 metres high.
Station Place will be a hub of live music with a variety of bands entertaining you. The line-up will include a stage show for the kids by larger than life character Mr Frost, rockabilly pop from Rosie & The Mighty Kings, a performance by the Bindaas Bollywood Dance company, country pop from Melbourne band Jeanie and a special performance by local Wyndham musician and master guitarist, Eshak Awi.
Along Watton Street you'll find fire performances, ice sculpting, projections, chalk drawings, light installations and es Meduses - illuminated roving jellyfish that'll float through the crowds. Many businesses will be open late and participate with special activities and warming winter treats on offer. It'll be the perfect pit-stop to fill your hungry tummy or to sip a steaming cup of hot chocolate.
Wedge Street Piazza will be buzzing with kids activities including glow in the dark face painting and lantern-making. There might even be a little flurry of snow! For all information about this event and other future events, please check the website.
