An Interactive Play Full of Music and Fun

This story was written by Michael Rosen and is a classic award-winning book which will come to life vividly and noisily in a hugely innovative, fun-filled stage adaptation direct from London's West End.

It is a classic hand-rhyme telling the engaging story of four children and their father as they embark on a fantasy bear hunt. Using predictable text and rhyme, children and adults will be encouraged to actively participate.

The Show is based on the book written by Rosen and Illustrated by Helen Oxenbury and We're Going on a Bear Hunt will be live on stage at the Subiaco Arts Centre.

In the book, Helen Oxenbury's illustrations bring the story to life with humour and sensitivity.

Here is a video where you can get to know the story, as told in the video by the author, Michael Rosen:

It is a much-loved children's book which will have catchy songs, many laughs, rhymes, and repetitions and by participating in the show, it gives children a chance to be included in a live show!

It will be the perfect first-time theatre experience for young children as well as lovers of this iconic children's book! The main song is of course We're going on a bear hunt - We're going to catch a big one".

It also features the musical dog as they wade through "swishy swashy grass, the splishy splashy river and thick oozy, squelchy mud", on their quest to find a bear.

There will be lots of surprises along the way, and it's going to be a fabulous story time for kids! They will go on a journey in a fun, exuberant and happy way.

The following are just two reviews received about this play:

"The play was such a hit with my first-time theatre-goer, that the first words out of his mouth the next morning were "can we go on a bear hunt again?" - Kidspot, July 2017

"This production of We're Going on a Bear Hunt takes everyone on the journey - not under, not over, oh no - through it! - in a funny, exuberant and loving way. This is a must-go show." - Michael Rosen, Author, We're Going on a Bear Hunt

It is presented by Andrew Kay & Associates Pty Ltd and will be on in the Subiaco Arts Centre main auditorium.
