Wembley Park is a bit of a local secret, tucked away in the suburbs of Coorparoo, with an entrance on Robinson Street. A dog-friendly, sports park; Wembley also has play equipment and walking and cycling tracks.

There are plenty of lovely, mature trees to sit under on a hot summer day. It's an excellent area for a picnic with friends or family- those with four legs included. I took my puppy for an afternoon walk here and she enjoyed exploring. Some owners do have their dogs off-leash, which is something to be aware of with your own animal or any small children.

The park area is well maintained, but still looks like a haven from the big city, with very little traffic noise. Parking is plentiful with street and designated car parking at either end of the park.
The sports courts, used for netball and basketball are busy on the weekends for kids and adult games, so if you're wanting a quiet walk, weekdays in the morning or evening might be best.

My puppy and I enjoyed our little wander and sitting under a nice tree in Wembley Park until sunset. It was a great spot for people watching and bird watching, and I'd recommend for anyone who enjoys running, cycling or relaxing on a weekend.
