Wellington Point is a quiet, beautiful nature park with a small beach located right in the Redlands Bay area of Brisbane. If you're looking for a summer escape from the heat and you want to take your dog there, what do you need to know?
For starters, dogs aren't permitted at Wellington Point reserve or beach on weekends from 9am-4pm, or on public holidays. They need to be on a leash and there are bins to put any waste, so bring your poop scoop or plastic bags for disposal.
The beach is calm and doesn't have waves, so it's safe for smaller breeds if you want to take your dog into the water or teach them to paddle. There are also facilities including taps for drinking water and washing, after the fun of splashing around in the bay.
Swimming Beach area- dog safe during the week
There are also plenty of trees for shade and facilities for humans too, including boat dock and fishing pier, showers, toilets and play equipment for kids. With summer heating up and a great escape so close to the city, Wellington Point is a great place for taking the whole family- and pets- for a swim and picnic.
