Dinner outdoors, enjoyable summer evenings
Just a quick idea for an easy and enjoyable evening out with the kids - once the clocks change, we like to head out to Weekley Park for dinner in the playground.

This is a very small park, but it has a number of perks. Firstly, you can park right on the curb of the park boundary, so unloading runaway toddlers is easy, also carrying picnic provisions is a simple exercise.

For the small space, there are a lot of trees (a bonus for us inner city dwellers). Sorry, dog folk, no dogs allowed.

There are chess tables (bring your own pieces) and toilets. The bonus is the picnic tables, one right next to the playground, so easy for adults to linger over dinner while the little ones play.

We often go with a group - call through a pizza order from the nearby Adam's Pizza and 20 minutes later one of us heads down to get it. So an easy dinner, no effort and nothing to clean up.

Alcohol is also permitted before 7pm (thus it's popular for kiddies birthday celebrations on the weekend), so you can grab a beer or enjoy a glass of wine with dinner.

Just another way to start making the most of this glorious weather!

it actually IS dog friendly, with toilet bags and disposal bin. It's doggy breakfast there sometimes, with people from everywhere bringing their dog children to socialise

I have seen plenty of dogs there but there is a sign saying they aren't allowed (it's at Percival entrance side) so I just state what the council permits. I don't have a dog.
