Port Campbell, on the Great Ocean Road, is the perfect coastal destination all-year round. This charming town offers some great dining, entertainment, and accommodation options for visitors of all types. Tourists flock to see the world-famous Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge, and relish the chance to explore the region on tours, bike and walking trails.
SIGHTSEEING, TOURS, TRAILS & TRANSPORT
Sandra Timmins is the Owner of
Ride With Us and we spoke about their
taxi ,
tour , and
bike hire services in Port Campbell and beyond. Sandra holds an intricate knowledge of the area and has guided many local and tourists that "visit to enjoy the vast array of experiences". Visitors are drawn to Port Campbell and the Great Ocean Road as "it is scenic and breathtaking - there are rainforests, paddocks, beaches and views of the ocean".
Port Campbell Tours
Ride With Us "design private tours for the experience in mind, it might be the Loch Ard Gorge, Twelve Apostles and more". Sandra notes that they offer a specific tour of
Port Campbell , but encourage visitors to select or design a tour that explores the entire region and coastline.
The Great Ocean Walk
The Great Ocean Walk runs from the Twelve Apostles near Port Campbell to Apollo Bay and although some visitors take the car, Sandra tell me that: "many people come on the train, and can be picked up at any point of the walk and assisted". The trail runs for over 100 kilometres, but can be tackled in sections over one or several trips.
12 Apostles Bicycle Trail
Many avid cyclists are familiar with the beautiful rail trail from
Camperdown to Timboon . I was amazed when Sandra told me about "a new trail will extend from Timboon to Port Campbell, with the option to stayover on the coast for the night - creating more of a holiday experience". You can view updates on the trail
here and arrange bike hire or
transport .
