As the world continues to grow, our lives also have been transformed dramatically. We are now living in a fast paced society to catch up with the evolution. With our busy lifestyles, stress is no doubt a part of our daily grind. But dealing with stress doesn't need to be stressful at all. We just need to take a step back, pinpoint where those stress-related difficulties are coming from, and then pull ourselves together. It's easier said than done, but if we can just start working on one thing that most of us have been taking for granted or being sceptical about, we might be able to put enough focus on those issues and manage them gracefully.
Meditation is a precise technique that helps you become more relaxed and peaceful by eliminating that stream of jumbled thoughts that may be crowding your mind and causing stress. With daily practice, concentration improves which helps us to focus and create good judgement on every aspect of our life.
Meditation also offers many proven health benefits as backed up by medical studies, including reduced stress and anxiety, thus making us feel more energised and joyful.
If you haven't tried it before and would like to know how it's done, free meditation classes are offered every Sunday by the Tibetan Buddhist Society of Canberra at 11am. You don't need to be part of this religious group to participate. Everyone is welcome.
