Both Barnie Duncan and Dani Cabs have won awards locally and internationally at comedy and fringe festivals. The core of Barnie's performances are the characters that he creates. With a great love of both physical and absurdist comedy his shows are interactive experiences that involve the audience in a gentle but supportive manner.
Weekend at Barnie's is obviously based on the movie Weekend at Bernie's. If you are unaware of this dark comedy classic, it is based on a single joke, that Bernie/Barnie is dead but the protagonists have to do everything that they can to make him appear alive. Barnie Duncan's motivation to do his own version comes form the fact that it is a combination of physical comedy, absurdist situations and the idea that one joke can be stretched into a whole show or even a movie.
The performance will take place in Ben's Burgers lovely courtyard, which is a great little performance space with a bar on the side. If you sit near the front then you are definitely going to interact with the performers. Though to be honest, if you sit near the back that is likely to happen as well. But it is all done in a good natured way. Oh, and don't forget to take a warm sweater or jumper or you might find the venue a little cold.

Order yourself some burgers, fries, beers or cocktails to enjoy while watching the performance. The food is very American with burgers that are packed with mustard, mayo, American style cheese and pickles. I recommend the cheesy burger over the classic as it sticks it American roots, while the classic adds tomato and lettuce, which doesn't quite fit the rest of the flavours.
