Weaving Workshop on

On the day, you'll learn the traditional basket weaving techniques of Burundi, Africa, and you'll make a simple pair of earrings or a coaster to take home. You'll be taught enough skills to continue weaving projects at home, independently. Colodetha and Victoria form
Sisterworks , a non-profit social enterprise will be your instructors. Sisterworks supports women who are migrants, asylum seekers or refugees to become financially independent and happily settled in Australia.
The evening will include a delicious meal of Injera bread and traditional curries. This workshop being a part of the Connecting Cultures program that runs at NMLL, it aims to provide a place where community members from diverse cultures come together and celebrate their diversity. The workshops provide a platform for the sharing of stories, traditions, and art based practices.
