Enjoy the relaxing process of weaving in these free workshops coming soon to Yankalilla Library. This is your opportunity to discover and develop your creative potential. While you are there, share a cuppa and a yarn and make some creative connections. Be refreshed and inspired by your creative time out and become a dream weaver! The workshops will be run by artist and tapestry weaver Betty Wolf-Gatignon.

Weaving has been around for a very long time
There are not too many activities that we take part in today that have been around for thousands of years. Weaving, that is a craft involving the intertwining of yarn or thread to form fabric, existed in the Paleolithic era and early humans weaved branches and twigs together to create shelters and baskets. The earliest forms of weaving developed as the production of string and thread began and many of these early forms of weaving are still used today!
