Nifty nimble little fingers can accomplish great things, especially when they're presented with a task, along with a little know-how. There's something soothing about weaving, and to prove the point, last year this school holiday activity was a sell-out. Be sure and book your place fast if you'd like to participate in the Weaving with Rachel workshop at Heritage Hill in Dandenong.
Kids will be given a little instruction first, then all the materials they need to make their very own, shaggy woven wall hanging. See how quickly they pick it up when presented with strips of coloured fabric, thick and fuzzy yarn, some sparkly string and a loom. This is like elastic loom banding on a much grander scale, and kids will be allowed to take their creation home to proudly show and hang.
Weaving with Rachel is being held on Wednesday 5th April 2017 at a cost of $7 per child. Booking are absolutely essential and the session will run from 11am to 12.30pm. Please visit the Greater City of Dandenong website for more or to book online, or phone 8571 1666 to reserve your place. For disability access contact Heritage Hill directly on 9793 4511.
